Just a Little While Longer

After a year on the black ribbon that criss-crosses this rock we call United States I decided to take off from writing for a little while. I had to let my creative juices start flowing again. With some help from cold libations and having my feet in white sand with turquoise water splashing over them, I believe that I am ready once again.
You might wonder what we have been doing for two months since our last post on the original blog? As true as birds fly south for the winter we have done the same. We are on this small stretch of sand called the Keys in Florida. You can't get any further south and still speak English. The days have blended together where the words Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday are just meaningless words that signify structure and schedules, none of which resides here. The morning greets you with fresh winds off the water, pelicans grooming themselves in preparation for their day of fishing, the gentle sway of the palm trees stretching as if they too just awoke from a deep sleep. Sitting with a fresh, steamy cup of black nectar, it starts to awaken the senses and gently nudges the human computer to boot up.
The difficult task of deciding the daily activity is lost in thoughts of Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, reading a good book or just chill'axing in the cool shade.
A glimpse of the picture box hanging in the living room reveals the cold weather back in DC and reaffirms the reason for our being here.
The picture I painted above will soon come to an end because in early February I will once again be subjected to the daily grind that many have come to loath and refer to as...WORK.
As the day gets closer I will update the blog with more details of our next adventure. For now please enjoy the new blog and please post comments.

  3. You write so eloquently. It makes me wish/feel like I was there. I will be in line to be the first to buy your book! You kids are so lucky!

You both are extremely missed. It's not the same without you. I do want to know, in all of your travels, have you been able to find a better "one ball" setter throughout the nation. My guess is, no!!!

    Love you guys,
    Mel

  4. Great to read your posts again. They are really quite good and flow with great descriptions. I do feel like I'm watching you experience these things, the descriptions are that good. Please enjoy the warmth and sun and sand as I feed my addition to snow and cold for a few more months. Hope to see you in April at Amir's wedding.
